Dwight is also home to an old gas station made into a visitors center to show what it would have been like back in its route 66 days. However I cannot clearly show you this wonderful site as our camera man, the man working at the station who takes pictures of people there all day long, was not a very good one.
At this gas station we were able to see just how far some people come to make this journey. The guest book had signatures by people from Australia, Italy, England, Spain, and even China. Below is an example of a Route sign the now have painted on the street in some areas to guide you on your journey.
We made a run to Dwight to buy a unicorn of a car. ( an impossible to find newish version of a discontinued model, most of which are still being driven by original owners who don't give them up)
